Duchess Restaurant in Fairfield

Haven't been to Connecticut in so many yesrs... still amazing! Loveeee

Usually like this place a lot. Decided to "splurge" on a half sandwich and bowl of soup. Soup was all broth. I brought it back. It returned to me with no more beef or barley, but now very dark brown and salty beyond being edible. WTF, right?! Needless to say, a go to place nevermore.

Waited 20 minutes for 2 small French fries at the drive through. I was the only car in the drive through. No apologies, no reasons why. Unacceptable.

Duchess is a very nice restaurant also but sometimes you don't get what you order and when you get home instead of onion rings or french fries instead of mustard and bacon on your hot dog you get you know just mustard but the food is good the food is fresh but just before you leave check your order

The Hot Dogs here are out of this world good. I had to go back for a second round! Yummy!

A fastfood place, but not as a usual one. Excellent food prepared and fresh daily. Nice restaurants. Reasonably priced for what you get. Versatile menu from breakfast to dinner.

Amazing hot dogs, but the soda tastes soapy. clean those lines.

The place is neat and and the service is fast. They got a unique menu, too and the food tastes really delicious. I stop by here to grab snacks.

For the first time in many years I am disappointed in my order last night. I ordered from the Duchess Restaurant (Drive In) in Fairfield. I ordered from the Drive In outside area. I ordered a “Big D” with no mayonnaise, just ketchup with lettuce tomato and onion. This came with just ketchup. I also ordered a tuna sandwich on “bread”. The woman ( girl”) asked what kind of bread. Just for your information, there’s a fairly large picture of a sandwich on bread right on the kiosk. I went back and forth repeating what I wanted. ... no tomatoes just lettuce. Well they got the no tomatoes just lettuce right but the tuna sandwich came on a tiny hamburger roll. The sandwich was soggy and not at all what I ordered. Please send to me a gift certificate for the following:1. Big D Tuna ( this was a tiny tuna so called sandwich)For $5.392. A Big D Cheeseburger for $5.19Yes I have the receipt. If I don’t hear from you in a timely way I will go in to the restaurant and ask for my money back.

Typical fast food ordered chili dogs and they were okay

Good but not like it used to be.Having no choice but to cheap out against the the dollar menu fast foods of the world.Stick to your guns do it fresh like your add I'll gladly pay the difference!

Reasonably priced, large selection of meals. Good quality food, reasonably priced. Dinner for 2 with sodas, under $20.

Excellent cheese steak. First time there. Met owner's brother. These guys just want to serve good food at a fair price and make people happy. Love the American dream. Check them out I am a bit if a foodie with lots of experience so trust my judgement.

They made a huge progress. My last memory of Duchess is a place that makes greasy food that usually make you feel a bit sorry after you eat it. But not anymore! Had good food and not greasy at all here today. Keep up the good work.

We always love stopping by Duchess for a quick bite to eat but the customer service lately (especially tonight!) has been so lackluster. We’ve been waiting almost 15 minutes for our food (one grilled cheese and one sandwich) while the girls at the counter just talk, talk, talk( nothing being remotely appropriate for children to hear). Disappointing. Management should definitely have a better eye on their staff members.

Horrible!,,, drive-thru very long wait, hot dog toppings in the middle and not on either end...just terrible waited for a very long time and eggplant was worst!

When you have a craving for a hotdog with the works and you get your order ... And find a shriveled dog... Covered in nothing but mustard...lots of mustard... not the first time this has happened.

Im from out of town and they dont have a Duchess near my home, so this was my first visit ever and I give it a thumbs up! They have a fast food look with an interesting menu, from breakfast plates to burgers to spaghetti. They even have lobster rolls and fried oreos. I ordered an omelette with home fries and toast ($6.50) and had to try a lobster roll ($7). The lobster roll bun looks a touch burnt in my pic but I dont remember it tasting burnt at all, and I hate that taste so I would remember. Both were pretty decent for the price. I would definitely recommend this place, especially if you're sick of Burger King and them. I'll definitely go back.

Two sausage egg and cheese sandwiches on a hard roll for like $3.99. And the Big D burger is killer. And what a name haha.

This time around.. seems like cashiers don't understand the word large. Figured if I asked for a meal combo to be a large.. only got a large drink. No fries with my meal. Be careful and ask them to read your order before paying.

Used to be a lot better prices have gone up used to have very good soup, no more Duchess in Shelton has the best soup

Easy_off_easy_on from exit 23 of interstate 95 ( Connecticut turnpike),the location is on U.S. route 1 (post road).Drive thru available. Plenty of parking including handicapped spaces and handicap entrance. Great place to catch a bite, day or night.Good for dining alone or for groups. They always have the big screens up so you can watch something if you want. This location is about half mile east of the downtown area.

Worst service ever, took them 25 minutes to get the order and at the end it was wrong!!!

Not the Duchess I grew up. The food quality is just not the same, but still a go to for me for nostalgia

Beats going to McDonald's or Burger King but also not quite Five Guys, slots in between.

Great hot dogs when not over cooked. Bad cooks or untrained sell dried out things that should have been in the garage half hour prior to letting out. To go and down the road, too late to bring back. Ruined a good product.

Personally, I think it's the best fast food out there

Although the food was excellent, there were many little flies, fruit flies maybe all in the area where the coffee and soda machine. It's kind of disgusting.
